ENTRY FEES are $50 per team (No refund is available unless the event is cancelled or moved to a different date).
Included will be a FREE 10x10 booth space for the Expo. Your expo booth space and summer sausage competition locations will be the same. You MUST provide your own sampling table, chairs, and/or 10x10 tent used for the competition / booth.
The first 30 teams to apply will be allowed to compete.
There are (3) members (max) per team.
The recipe must contain an Arkansas Wild Game and must be identified with labels or signage on the sampling tables.
Each team MUST have a member at their table at all times, until the competition ends.
Each team will need an ample supply of summer sausage, all from the same recipe.
A team member must slice a fresh sample for any/all judges.
There will be (2) awards:
PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD = Any general public visitor can purchase a $5 ticket to taste each team's summer sausage, then use their 1 ticket to vote for their favorite. In case of a tie, (3) AEO Staff will collectively break the tie to determine the winner.
STATE CHAMPION = Will be judged be (5) predetermined judges. Judges will be well-known in their areas and will vote for the team that they believe has the best tasting summer sausage. The team with the most votes will win. In case of a tie, all (5) judges will again vote for only those involved in a tie.
***NOTE*** At some point after the competition (may be as late as 5pm), all of the $5 tickets purchased by the general public for voting for the People's Choice Award will be combined into a single container and will be entered into a drawing to win $100 (winner MUST be present to win)
The State Champion & the People's Choice awards will both receive a cash prize, plus a custom engraved wood plaque valued at $500. Each plaque will be presented by their donor, if available: JG's Custom Woodwork.
If you choose NOT to utilize your free booth space for the Expo after the competition, then you MUST stay setup until a winner is announced, at a minimum.
Sampling will begin at 1PM and end at 3PM.
Tickets will be collected/counted after 3pm, and the winner will be announced shortly after.
TEAMS WILL RECEIVE EMAIL CONFIRMATION UPON SUCCESSFUL ENTRY. FURTHER INFORMATION WILL BE PROVIDED LATER.
