Arkansas Extreme Outdoors Website Administrator & Pro-Staff

“There is a fine line between fishing and sitting on the bank.”

~Chris Phillips

Although graduating high school from Humphrey, Chris has been a Pine Bluff resident his entire life.  After high school, he went on to earn an associate's degree in computer networking.  Chris and his captivating wife, Rachel, of 12+ years, have a blended family that include six children.

Chris joined the U.S. Army when he was 19 years old.  As a new Combat Engineer (12B), he was relocated to Hanau, Germany (Pioneer Kaserne) for three years.  Although called back to active duty many more times throughout the remainder of his military career, Chris finished his career serving in the Arkansas National Guard.  Some highlights of his call-ups include a combat tour in Iraq, a support mission for Hurricane Katrina, and a couple of support missions for Arkansas tornados.  Chris was also able to obtain a couple other occupational skills in the Army, such as becoming a plumber and later a construction supervisor, before his retirement in 2020 after 21+ years!

Today, Chris still serves his country while working as a civilian for the Department of Defense.  Chris' hobbies include turkey & deer hunting, fishing, raising his pigs & cows, and being the commissioner of his multiple fantasy football leagues; he is a big pro-football fan.  Chris is heavily involved in extracurricular activities and wears many hats.  In addition to his Arkansas Extreme Outdoors duties, Chris serves as a Deacon at Pursuit Church, serves as the sound technician for both Pursuit Church and Central Arkansas Worship Collective (CARWC), serves as the Vice-President & Treasurer of the Bayou Bartholomew Chapter - Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), serves as the President and Treasurer of the 4-Seasons Hunting Club, and serves as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children.
